Abhishek Reddy’s Journey from Corporate Life to Farming
At just 22 years old, Abhishek Reddy gave up an annual income of approximately ₹1.5 crores to establish a farm in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Many people were surprised by his decision. But for him, this represented a chance at finding some calm and peace after years of working in the corporate world. The high levels of pressure had affected his overall physical and mental well-being and outlook towards his job.
Abhishek Reddy’s background was very entrepreneurial. He got into the startup space when he was quite young. In Hyderabad, he established his own web-design company, received clients, and later transitioned into a more senior creative position within the tech industry. He worked extremely long hours, sometimes up to 14-15 hours per day, including throughout the weekend and holidays. It wasn’t until the pressure from his job began negatively affecting his physical and mental health as well as his view of work. That’s when he decided to leave behind his corporate life and pursue a different lifestyle, one based on farming.
He quit his job in 2023 and invested all his money into a farmland in Obulapuram Village (near Pamidi), Andra Pradesh. He was able to start his first organic farming project with help from his mom and sister. Later on, he moved to Manali and started a Permaculture Farm that is completely surrounded by the Himalayas.

Silly Sensei and the Rise of Eco-Farming in India
Reddy uses rainwater harvesting, composting, and natural pest control to maintain soil health on his farm. The farm does not produce any waste and avoids using any plastics or chemicals. In addition to growing food on his farm, Reddy uses local building supplies and creates very small cabin’s for tourists.
What sets Reddy’s initiative apart is his own mix of digital knowledge and sustainable farming. He runs workshops for locals as well as tourists about permaculture design, soil health and self-reliance. Through these mediums he educates India’s youth that farming should be both profitable and environmentally friendly.
His Instagram public profile, Silly Sensei, has over 700 000 followers. He shares short videos on topics ranging from organic food systems, forest farming and conscious lifestyles in relation to climate issues. His posts illustrate how the modern Indian can once again return to nature but not at the expense of creativity and ambition. His platform also attracts brand collaborations related to sustainable living and green innovation.
Abhishek Reddy’s Mission
In addition to social media, Reddy is developing educational alliances with schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh. His aim is to teach young people about entrepreneurial approaches to environmentalism and to create job opportunities that protect land and other natural resources. In addition, he plans to establish a farm-based learning center which will allow people to see and learn about permaculture.

Organic farmers praise Reddy’s work for integrating social media into his farm-based operations while providing hands-on training and support to a growing team of employees. The income from farm products, workshops, and social media supports his operations.
Abhishek Reddy’s Impact on India’s Sustainable Future
Abhishek Reddy’s transition from corporate life to farming is an illustration of how the children of a newer generation in urban India are looking at avenues other than the traditional ones. His success proves that digital skills can help revive local agriculture. Today, Abhishek Reddy’s Manali farm stands as a growing example of eco-entrepreneurship. It connects technology, nature, and community development. He often says that farming is not an escape from ambition but a different kind of achievement, one that grows roots instead of resumes.
