Taking a strong pace towards safe and inclusive transport, Gurugram-based women-led mobility startup Fery Rides has raised ₹2 crore led by IAN Angel Fund as seed funding. This investment is a key milestone in its goal of building a secure, sustainable, and empowering commute experience by women and for women.
The Vision Behind Fery Rides
It was established in 2023 by Ajay Kumar, Vindhya Mehrotra, and Himanshu Chaubey. Fery Rides was conceived out of a life experience that brought into sharp focus the imperative to provide safer rides for women. Fery Rides exclusively pairs women passengers with women drivers, also referred to lovingly as “Sister Partners.” In doing so, not only does Fery Rides provide protection, but it also creates new opportunities of work for women in India’s expanding gig economy.
Where the Funds Will Go
The capital raised will be utilized to expand operations beyond Delhi-NCR, enhance the platform’s technology, and induct more women drivers, particularly those driving electric vehicles. Having a fully electric vehicle lineup, Fery Rides combines social empowerment with environmental sustainability, extending the vision of green mobility for India.
Safety and Trust at the Core
Fery Rides has built its brand on innovation for safety first. Its app features real time ride tracking, SOS notification, and customer support via WhatsApp, giving commuters a sense of security. Fery Rides has completed over 65,000 rides, registered over 250 women drivers, and has achieved approximately 50,000 app downloads. These are huge milestones for a new company with a social cause.
