MilkVilla, a Patna-based dairy startup is co-founded by Mannu Jee, Aman Jee, Prashant Gyan, and Piyush Chachondhia. This startup focuses on a plastic-free, tech-driven milk delivery system, currently operating in Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Bengaluru. Instead of using traditional plastic pouches, they deliver chilled, fresh A2 desi cow milk into your own container using app-connected, Bluetooth-enabled dispensers mounted on autorickshaws. This method has drawn more than 6,000 customers across Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Bengaluru, encouraging sustainability in the dairy industry.
“Patna is our home state’s capital, and we wanted to establish our brand here before extending throughout India and worldwide. Furthermore, labor expenses are lower than anywhere else in the country, making Patna the most financially viable location for beginning our program,” stated Amen Jee, the founder.
Rooted in Sustainability
The zero-plastic concept is what sets Milkvilla apart from the regular dairy services. A dual-layer insulated surface is designed on every tanker to preserve milk’s freshness even in the hottest summer months. Customers bring their own containers and the milk is poured into them—fresh from the dispenser. Over 200,000 trees are saved using this approach.
The greatness doesn’t stop here. The company goes a step further and delivers paneer in banana leaves, butter in coconut shells, and curd in reusable earthen pots.
“Milkvilla’s appeal goes beyond freshness and taste. It is also a proponent of sustainability. The company has removed all plastic from its supply chain, saving almost 2 lakh trees in the process,”said Mannu Jee, the co-founder of Milkvilla.

Tech-Focussed Farm-to-Door Delivery
Milkvilla maintains the hygiene and accuracy with the help of IoT-enabled systems. The temperature is maintained between 0–4°C for up to 10 hours using Bluetooth-controlled dispensers. Hence, customers receive accurate measurements and real-time alerts through a mobile app.
This practice eliminated risks of contamination and human handling errors, ensuring the supply chain is flexible and transparent throughout modern urban areas.
Rapid Scaling and Local Roots
Milkvilla’s founder, Aman Jee, an IIT-Patna alumnus, and the co-founders, with marine engineering expertise, invested approximately ₹4 crore from personal funds, bank loans, and government support. Currently, they serve about 5,000 liters of milk each day, with pricing that aligns with local conditions. For example, in Bengaluru, the service costs ₹90 a liter, while in Bihar, it is less expensive.
“We are a stand-alone dairy business without any affiliation with the government. We have made investments totaling around ₹4 crore, of which ₹40 lakh came from government loans, ₹2 crore from bank finance, and the remaining amount came from our own resources,” said Mannu Jee.

Green Metrics That Speak
Milkvilla has delivered over 50 lakh liters of A2 milk, diverted 27,000 kg of plastic waste, and prevented 30,000 kg of new plastic production. The startup saved 60 million liters of water and earned 4,475 carbon credits. These numbers demonstrate how everyday activities can generate genuine eco-benefits when they are rethought.
“I think the milk is just as good as what we used to get from our village’s own cows,” said Rupa Sinha of A G Colony, Patna.
Milkvilla is positioned for growth in the future. Continued innovation, such as same-day delivery, partnerships with quick-commerce platforms, or overseas markets, has the potential to redefine ethically aware dairy not only in India but throughout the world.
