The Infosys Foundation has recently announced the eight winners of the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards 2025. The eight selected teams worked on innovative solutions across education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. Each winner received 50 lakh rupees to grow their idea and help more people.

Sudha Murty, chairperson of Infosys Foundation, said that young innovators in India are developing local innovation-based solutions to serious issues. “The innovations are changing lives by providing local solutions,” she added.

Education Winner: Connecting the Dots

The Education award went to Rajesh A Rao, Ravindra S Rao, and Deepa L B Rajeev from Bengaluru. They created Connecting the Dots, a learning program for students from Grades 6 to 10 in government schools. The program uses daily live classes, lab kits, scholarships, and teacher training to teach STEM and spoken English. Teachers said the program helps students learn with confidence.

Healthcare Winner: CLUIX C012 Water-Quality Analyzer

The Healthcare award was given to Chitranjan Singh and Robin Singh from New Delhi. They built CLUIX C012, a portable device that tests water quality. It checks 14 key parameters and gives results in 30 minutes. The device uses AI and IoT and provides GPS-tagged reports. The goal is to prevent waterborne diseases by making testing simple and affordable in both rural and urban areas.

Environmental Sustainability Winner: Borecharger

The Environmental Sustainability award went to Rahul Suresh Bakare and Vinit Moreshwar Phadnis from Pune. They created Borecharger, the world’s first robotic borewell recharge technique. It can push 4 to 80 lakh liters of rainwater into borewells every year. This helps farms get better irrigation, improves drinking water quality, and makes villages more sustainable.

Special Jury Awards: Five More Innovations Recognized

The jury also chose five more innovations for the Jury’s Special Award, with each team receiving 10 lakh rupees.

  1. Sukoon, a cooling jacket for people working in high heat, created by Phalgun Mukesh Vyas from Pune.

  2. Comprehensive Wildlife Management Platform by Neha Panchamiya and Nachiket Utpat, which tracks rescue, treatment, and release of wildlife using a One Health approach.

  3. Project Bindu by Sowmya S and Pallavi Kulkarni, which creates tech-enabled remote jobs for persons with disabilities who support elderly care and data tasks.

  4. CERVICHECK, India’s first at-home HPV self-sampling kit, developed by Anirban Palit, Dr. Sayantani Pramanik, and Palna Patel from Vadodara.

  5. Hexis & Iris, a learning system for visually impaired students, built by Nagarajan Rajagopal, Vidhya Y, and Supriya Dey from Bengaluru.

Sumit Virmani, Trustee of Infosys Foundation, said, “At the heart of these awards lies the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.” He said the winners showed what is possible when innovation is “rooted in compassion.”

The Aarohan Awards continue to show how India’s social innovators are creating change with simple, powerful ideas. These solutions help classrooms, protect health, improve water access, support wildlife, include persons with disabilities, and make communities stronger.
