Google for Startups India launches ‘Startup School: Prompt to Prototype’ with Scaler

Google for Startups India, in association with Scaler, has launched a program called ‘Startup School: Prompt to Prototype’ to help Indian founders build AI-driven products faster. The program offers hands-on training with Google’s AI tools like Gemini, Imagen, and NotebookLM that help entrepreneurs prototype, research and deploy real-world AI applications quickly without the need for deep technical expertise.

Google for Startups India, along with Scaler and also supported by MeitY Startup Hub, Startup India, India AI Mission and NASSCOM, has launched an “online program” called “Startup School: Prompt to Prototype,” to help early-stage startup founders in India transform their ideas into prototypes using AI rapidly. The program will run for two weeks, starting November 27th through to December 7th, 2025.

The goal of this program is to enable startup founders to quickly convert their ideas into functional AI prototypes using prompt-based tools such as Google Gemini, Imagen, Veo, and NotebookLM within the AI Studio environment. The program will include guided ideation, prototype validation, prototype design, and prototype deployment training.

Non-technical founders and startup teams are equally encouraged to join the program. It offers interactive workshops, hands-on learning and a certificate endorsed by Google. The top prototypes of the program will be selected to participate in the “Build the Future” showcase in January 2026.

This is an important effort, as there are currently more than 180,000 registered companies in India’s growing startup community, but fewer than 2% are native to artificial intelligence. This program is looking to close this gap by offering startups access to tooling, product training and mentoring from experts.

For founders, the benefits are clear: learn modern AI tools, build product prototypes, validate ideas and get access to Google’s ecosystem.  The move is also an important signal that the Indian startup community is shifting away from a funding-only focus toward product-led growth and skill-driven scale.
